Think twice - DoryGray - 10-29-2018 OMG, Nepotism in Hawaii, can't believe it! RE: Hiking to Pohoiki? Think twice - My 2 cents - 10-29-2018 "I have it on very good authority. A State Representative of the area." Yes, that is exceptionally good authority, because we all know that politicians always tell the truth. Sorry, I just couldn't resist a snarky response to that. You stepped right into it. I believe it's true, but I wouldn't repeat it without more solid evidence. The word of a politician just doesn't cut it for me. RE: Hiking to Pohoiki? And taking the opportunity to show us how much you do not understand the incestuous nature of family ties in government here. RE: Hiking to Pohoiki? Think twice - My 2 cents - 10-29-2018 Oh, I understand completely. That's why I said I believe it. I just don't regard the word of a politician as verification of a rumor. RE: Hiking to Pohoiki? Think twice - kalakoa - 10-29-2018 the incestuous nature of family ties in government here Also, the licensed trades. don't regard the word of a politician as verification Politician, n.: From the Greek "poly" ("many") and the French "tete" ("head" or "face," as in "tete-a-tete": head to head or face to face). Hence "polytetien", a person of two or more faces. RE: Hiking to Pohoiki? Think twice - My 2 cents - 10-29-2018 The person I first heard it from was an attorney....another profession not particularly known for it's truthfulness. Go figure. I tried to google it again. Still no luck. So at this point the only verification we have is the word of 2 professional liars. Easy to believe because of the rampant nepotism, but apparently not so easy to verify. |
