ps: I didn't like handing my ballot to the police station instead of USPS b/c that seemed open to election fraud. Is it a conflict of interest for the police station to collect ballots from their former supervisor who is a candidate on the ballot?

The drop boxes are mostly located at police stations, but my understanding is that only the election workers have access to the ballots inside. They'd also have to open the envelopes to see who you voted for...

Roth has never been the supervisor of the police. As prosecutor, he often worked with the police, but he had no administrative control over them. I know several cops, and some of them describe conflicts between Roth and various elements of the police over certain prosecutions. Personally, I think he should have taken a more assertive role in seeking longer sentences for violent criminals. Furthermore, I believe he should have accepted the voters' will and lowered the priority of marijuana prosecutions. Having said all that, I still plan to vote for Roth because his opponent has no real administrative experience and hasn't expressed a clear idea of what he wants to do except for vague promises to "listen to the people." Add the fact that Marzo has pandered to the TMT opponents, and it becomes an easy choice to vote for Roth despite his shortcomings.

Marzo has poor judgement, and directly contributed to the Covid surge on our island by packing 40 Oahu and local guests onto his boat without masks. His heart might be in the right place, but we need more than good intentions.

Marzo can be seen on the publicly available YouTube video, “What Gang Hana Hou” piloting his tour boat packed with people during an ashes spreading ceremony at the July 25 memorial service. He said the boat, which holds about 40 passengers, was about 50-50 locals and Oahu visitors.
“We partaked in this ceremony of casting our brother to the next realm and you know, I felt good about it. To point fingers and say that we was part of something that, you know, what we see today with COVID-19 cases. There was no restrictions at that time with traveling, quarantine, 14-day quarantine restrictions,” Marzo said during the televised show. “Yes, I was part of it and I was proud of it and I’m gonna man up to it because my manao and my heart was for the family and that’s what I did.”
When asked if he had a comment, Roth replied, “I think everybody is trying to do their best right now to be safe and I’ll just leave it at that.”

If someone is concerned about mailing their vote, isn't it still possible to vote in person? Why choose an option you don't trust? Or, more likely, given the lack of history for some new posters, PW is starting to be attacked by one or two unintelligent trolls. Please be careful who you reply to.
I'm no fan of Roth given his behavior when it came to protests on Mauna Kea, but I am also no fan of newbie idiots who can't think things through. For instance, the police are not collecting ballots. If they are then post the evidence.
