Barbara,
Consider building your "shell" and interior wall framing and then moving in for awhile. Then you have the option of making adjustments that really are a custom fit.

Dan,
Good advise. I have found in our present house that has worked the best. It was a remodel, and living in it for awhile did change what we were initially going to do. Thanks for reminding me of this.
