A week or so ago a couple of members of the Orchidland Board met with some people from Honolulu to find out about traffic lights.
They found out a light is planned for Pohaku/Shower/130 but not scheduled to be installed until 2009.
A traffic study was done at Orchidland/130 in February and the state determined the traffic does not warrent a light. That may have changed since the general store and Blaines opened. I think someone is writing a letter requesting another study.
On a historical note, as I understand it years back when the Wiki Wiki was approved they agreed to put in a traffic light but it was not written into the special use permit. Then new owners bought the property and said this agreement does not apply to them.
