Filling factory jobs and coffee fields with young white American

After catching and deporting all the criminal drug dealing coffee pickers, ICE can then transition into “worker capture.” Drive their black SUVs to Ka’u District, throw bags over the heads of young men, take them to Kona coffee farms for their government mandated 8 hour shift.

American field workers, good if they last, or till they drop.

I'm on the mainland, where my sister who NEVER goes anywhere besides grocery stores wants to attend a protest! So we will.

Obie - I was born in Steubenville.
Always did strike me as one of those big city slickers. ;)

This event's address is private.
Gotcha fam - the local news there has all the deets for Steubenville's event: “This will be a peaceful, nonpartisan rally featuring speakers who will focus on the rights and freedoms of all Americans and what can be done to preserve those.” Also sounds like a good cause.

Durian Fiend - my sister who NEVER goes anywhere ... wants to attend a protest! So we will.
Been hearing a lot of similar sentiments - tons of people young and old looking to attend a protest, often their first. Which is an encouraging sign of Americans rising to meet the challenge of the times IMHO. Hopefully it'll even include some of that 50% in Hawaii who are non-participants in electoral politics.

HiloJulie - Which begs the question, What Would Jesus Do?
"When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them"? Or "I was a stranger and you took me in"? That book has a lot to say on the matter for those inclined to take a look.

But in the face of tyranny, probably also worth asking - what would Friedrich Wilhelm Ludolf Gerhard Augustin Louis Freiherr von Steuben do, so that town in Ohio is named after him?

and ordered to take a psychiatric exam

Did he ace the exam? Did the doctors tell him they never saw anyone in the history of psychiatric exam taking receive such a high score, a big perfect score?

RE: Protests in Hilo & across Hawaii - June 14th - ironyak - 06-12-2025

Obie - I was born in Steubenville because there is a hospital there. I lived in a small town down river.
So it's not where you were born, but where you live that's a key factor in who you are? Good to note, maybe someone needs to tell that to ICE when they are rounding up Kona coffee workers yet again?

Edge - Did he ace the exam?
Exam order was 18 years ago - he deemed it politically motivated because of his "legal work representing victims of alleged police brutality in eastern Ohio ... Olivito, of Steubenville, represented some victims of alleged police abuses in that city in the 1990s. The U.S. Department of Justice concluded that Steubenville police had engaged in a pattern of excessive force and retaliation and placed the police department under federal supervision in 1997."

He also apparently won a state rep primary in 2020, but lost the general election. Seems like someone getting in good trouble - hope his gathering, regardless of size, goes well like those in New Philadelphia, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui, Kona, Waimea, Naalehu, Hilo, and the other ~2000 locations on June 14th.

Obie, can you knock it off with the Ohio stuff? Pretty please?

RE: Protests in Hilo & across Hawaii - June 14th - HiloJulie - 06-12-2025

"...can you knock it off with the Ohio stuff?"

At least we aren't singing about it.

Yet.

Again.

Time to allow back Punatang Rob / Mod2.

Just curious, but how do you know how long others were banned for unless your sock puppets were banned? Have you reached out to other banned posters to find out how long they were banned? It's obvious you have some inside information or can't help but self-snitch.

Bizarre watching protestors waving the flag of Mexico while protesting the possibility of being deported back to Mexico? If it is so great, why did they leave and if it is so great, why not go back, voluntarily?

Sorry, just wondering what mod2 has to say about this, or even Rob. Does this have anything to do with Puna *and* Hawaii? Forgive me, I'm just trying to help clarify rules that make no sense. I'm sure the mods can explain. I haven't seen any riots in Hawaii. Or, for that matter, Puna.  It seems that unwritten rules often trump reasonable discussion.
