Why does the rest of the world has test kits but Honolulu does not? Can we trust the CDC? Why would Turkey, Lebanon, Italy and more have test kits but we don't? I think the CDC budget for 2020 is in the billions. WTF?

You may have read one consequence of the Wuhan virus is factory shutdowns all across China. Look at the labels on products in Costco - Kona:
Made in China, Made in China...
If this becomes a pandemic, any merchandise in the distribution pipeline will go first to the mainland. If there's a shortage, few products will make their way to Costco shelves in Kona. Perhaps packages of Cookies in Paradise Macadamia nut shortbread cookies. Do they sell bulk poi?

What you don't know can't kill you(r economy)? Note that even if we had test kits, the testing criteria as of Friday is only for people with symptoms AND a recent travel history in China. There currently is no testing for people coming through other countries or for community transmission in general.

when I see other countries with the amount of people that have been tested and I look at what the US is doing I recall a prediction by a govt think tank from a few years ago.

does that mean its reality? not necessarily. But it is interesting none the less.
How is it other countries can test in such large amounts and yet, the united states superpower cannot. I really have doubts were going to get test kits in time to make any difference of being able to slow it down. Of course never attribute anything as malice when stupidity can suffice just as easily.
