RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - opihikao - 07-29-2015 quote:That is exactly what some may want, Chunkster.(BBM). A double edged sword. Hawaiians must be careful what we "wish" for. Tread lightly; as we've always had to do. Sad, isn't it, in some respects? (Rhetoric question) Mahalo again. Appreciate the decent conversation as always. (Got to read up on the upcoming "politics"...from Washington to our little 'ole County. Ugh!) Politics will continue to dictate. The Hawaiians also had a form "politics" in the old days. Should be quite interesting. Pam, warmest, heartfelt, aloha as always. So sorry you have felt not "particularly welcomed" of late. This too shall pass, with hopefully, a better future for (selfishly) my mo'opuna, and their issues. We await your return to Hawai'i (the island, not the "State"...[]) "Kapu Aloha"? We'll see if it holds. On both sides, if possible. I have some grave concerns at this juncture. JMO. RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - opihikao - 07-29-2015 quote:BBM, Mr. Tom, if this was a slight to what I end my "opinion(s)" with, it won't change. That's why it's "JMO". When I post "JMFO", then I'm pissed. Let's agree to disagree on some things, at this point. Aloha to you, Sir. JMO. [] RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - TomK - 07-29-2015 Wasn't aimed at you, Opihikao, it was aimed at gypsy who just can't stop writing jmo, posting complete nonsense and ending the sentence with a question mark. It's utterly dishonest. RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - opihikao - 07-29-2015 quote:Mahalo, Mr. Tom, mine is "JMO" (note the caps), gypsy is "jmo". (I believe...lol) Best to you, Mr. Tom, and prayers for your kitty, too. Our dog is getting up there, and it's so hard to anticipate losing them. They are ohana. Aloha, Sir. Going to get some rest. Need to make spam musubi tomorrow for the mo'opuna's football team! [] Aloha ahiahi to all. JMO. RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - Guest - 07-29-2015 Top of the morning!! Disneyland's and amusement parks around the world can also become old and outdated, as could past built observatories. The TMT project, would be like adding a -21st- century Disneyland atop maunakea, jmo. The million visiting TMT tourist a year will get a new age star show like no other in the world. Not this currently closed Wally's world with luas were offering now. Is the development really (worth) the last 9 acres of untouched maunakea summit(the northern plateau)? I fail to see more keiki in schools today with shoes than 40 years ago( before most of the current observatories atop maunakea). Plenty of shoeless keiki within todays public school system, only now they are in need of a free meal or two daily as well. For over 50 years, hawaiians have shared maunakeas precious resources, island infrastructure, made sacrifices, and helped the astronomy community atop maunakea become what it is today, #1 in the entire world. These same people of aloha are trying to make a courages stand for change with hopes of a better and promising future here within their homelands( much like the astronomy community 50+ years ago). Jmo again, some of The questions or concerns about the multi billion dollar foreign projects and or investments atop maunakea. May be preventing these wonderful people from being seen, felt, or truly respected and or listened to at this important juncture? Helping the Hawaiian people regain or find their place in this competive world shouldn't kill the TMT project or the state of Hawaii's economy. Instead, The manmade TMT projects first light should be free of added native restrictions, while full of intentions to help the hawaiian people remember where they came from? More importantly, where the hawaiians will belong today AND tomorrow? RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - TomK - 07-29-2015 Anyone care to translate? RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - PaulW - 07-29-2015 In a rare moment of sobriety, gypsy is now in favor of building the telescope. I think. jmo? RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - punaticbychoice - 07-30-2015 TomK @ 01:16:11- Indeed. On and on. Best to you sir. RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - TomK - 07-30-2015 Very interesting article written by Peter Apo in the Honolulu Civil Beat: http://www.civilbeat.com/2015/07/peter-apo-the-tmt-honors-mauna-kea-through-universal-exploration/ "The construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope on Mauna Kea represents one of the greatest quests for knowledge in the history of mankind. Arguments that this project constitutes a grievous cultural and religious injury to Mauna Kea seem to fly in the face of historical practices by Hawaiians." RE: TMT Work to Resume Says Ige! - Lodestone - 07-31-2015 quote:No, no, I think he was advocating Disneyland-Hawaii. And a new golf course. |
