There is a slight flavor of tearing someone down but it is also true that her presentation is heavy on the self-promotion and light on the details. Nothing wrong with pointing that out. Valid points have been raised. I have been candid about my philosophy of building out my shipping container. I have been up front about not getting permits. At the same time I have said that if push comes to shove I can remove the container and build a regular house, or try to get the container permitted. I have not been misleading either directly or by omission.

There are design elements that I wanted to employ but didn't because of how directly they would conflict with building codes. I wanted to build a small concrete block storage room under one end and either another under the other end or a water tank under the other end. Those features would be decidedly permanent and much as I have taken the tone that I am not "burdening" the county with the knowledge of my project, I am keeping to the spirit of building a temporary structure.

All that being said, I do wish that I had gone ahead and put the container up on the CMU rooms/tank.

agree with kander, she's not trying to build a house, she's trying to build a resume. and if she get's the job, she'll be rich enough for someone else to build her an awesome house, by any of our standards.
