RE: Punatics for PGV - Guest - 08-23-2014 pahoated quote: "SB 2274 is a dead horse, no reason to keep flogging it except Ruderman might be answering more questions about his involvement." The reason I keep harping on SB2274 is that it is not really dead. I found out, it is just in a coma and in critical condition. Dr. Ruderman has threatened to resurrect this bill. Rumor has it that one of Graham's people, named Michelle?, left Seaview, on or about, 3 weeks ago, to assist Dr. Ruderman in the surgery on the bill to make it all better. RE: Punatics for PGV - kalakoa - 08-23-2014 SB2274 is that it is not really dead How about participating in the process by shaping the bill to meet the needs of all constituents, rather than starting a witch-hunt against the process? RE: Punatics for PGV - Guest - 08-23-2014 pahoated quote: "There is a video where Ruderman has to argue against his own bill, again, because that geothermal line was added, not by him." pahoated, can you give me the link? And if Senator Ruderman is arguing about "geothermal resources" being added in one of his other bills how come he didn't argue against that amendment in SB2274? RE: Punatics for PGV - Guest - 08-23-2014 kalakoa quote: "How about participating in the process by shaping the bill to meet the needs of all constituents, rather than starting a witch-hunt against the process?" I would love to get involved in the process yet I was told that my input was not welcomed by Ruderman's office. I was threatened with the police and told I did not understand the bigger picture. Ruderman told me in a recorded phone conversation that "I should watch out making enemies of certain people". kalakoa, it is hard to warm up with those kinds of comments and actions. Yet I would still like to present some amendments to the bill that my neighborhood could live with but I have been locked out of the process by Ruderman and his staff. RE: Punatics for PGV - leilanidude - 08-23-2014 quote: The correct question is, "Who pays for that money?" It is the consumer, the taxpayer. If this democratic/socialist state would stop trying to tax anything and everything, the consumer/taxpayer would be much better off. RE: Punatics for PGV - leilanidude - 08-23-2014 quote: ted - PGV operates one of the most modern plants there is. I don't know where you get the idea that it is using outdated technology? Ormat is selling the technology used here, for new plants all over the world. They already have a process to filter the vented steam in the event of a shutdown - which negates the negative gasses into harmless gasses. They did that quite effectively in this last steam release. PGV is not responsible for clearing vegetation (trees) from HELCO's lines - HELCO is. Direct your venting at HELCO. I have no idea why you are worried about lightning arrestors. Not sure if lightning has ever been an issue there? So what if Ormat is a foreign company? There are thousands of US owned companies that operate in other countries. Do you wish that those other countries kick those US owned companies out for being "foreign owned"? RE: Punatics for PGV - lavalava - 08-24-2014 Pro-USA or just anti-semetic? RE: Punatics for PGV - kalakoa - 08-24-2014 I have been locked out of the process by Ruderman and his staff Perhaps it is not appropriate for a single subdivision to insist on County-specific language in a State bill which directs County to "create a process"? Otherwise it's the NIMBY problem, writ large: "we don't want X near our country lifestyle, so people on Maui don't even get to consider the option".
