laurie , same song with you , like a broken record you pat yourself on the back , job well done and blame other people for the carnage left behind in the wake your abrupt departure when the prosecutor suggested you need an audit . and when the UH auditors started to dig back in years ..... well they walked away.

very good point , I wish there was a ignore button also ,, and the birds are singing and its a beautiful day in the neighborhood !

Speaking of the birds singing, there are bees too. Trying to shift toward more positivity in this thread of the acres. I'm seeing more bees in the acres and the orange trees in my backyard are showing the results. Mmm hard to eat without making a mess. slurp slurp

what kind of happenings might bring you to use the Center?

Community happenings. Like a farmers' market with actual produce.

Why do you not support the non-profits?

I support non-profits that actually do something useful for the community. Inviting legal challenges and County enforcement is not a good use of limited resources; nor is paying for maintenance of roads to houses other than my own.

There are a lot of folks who support sustainability in the Acres. I agree with you about having fresh produce available! The Farmers Market is supposed to be up and running again fairly soon. The old HACA board had started the legal process and the new board appears to be finishing it up. The legal challenges HACA & HARC are in right now are being met. What do you mean about “County enforcement” as being a use of limited resources? About road dues, I love how we do not have mandatory dues and folks can contribute as they see fit. It sure would be nice if everyone would participate in some way!

RE: Hawaiian Acres Issues - Laurie - 03-31-2015

My main issue these days is helping to get membership up for HACA & HARC. We have a unique situation in our subdivision, having no mandatory homeowner's association and no mandatory road maintenance fees. For that reason, we do need to volunteer more for our community in whatever way we can. Before I was the office manager for 10 years, I was a board member in the late '80-early '90s (7 years). That's one way to help. My focus these days is to help dispel the mistrust in good-faith volunteer efforts that was created over the last few years. We can do This!

"County enforcement" as being a use of limited resources?

County often "declines to enforce" citing their "limited resources". Given a choice between, say, fixing a pothole or shutting down a community farmers' market, I would vote for fixing the pothole.

would be nice if everyone would participate in some way!

Only the contribution of monies to HACA/HARC seems to count as "participation", therefore my works are not counted.

I also would rather have energy ($$ or heave-how/shovel, shovel)go to constructive purposes such as pothole repair. I count "works" by you and others! Perhaps you can share some of your "works" here to inspire us?

we are all on your side girl ,, I have never felt that the trash and accusations hurled at yourself and many other good folks was way over the line. and strangely enough ,, the old witch cant understand why ( the exact same people she has slandered and liable ,and told so many lies about ) ,, speak to her harshly ! my hope is that we will get to the point that the haters will go off on their own and allow good folks to do good things ! I can only imagine what could have been done and accomplished if the haters and sock puppets would have turned all that hate into good works right here in the acres ! all that effort ,, time ,, and money spent just so they could make it harder than it ever had to be .

I don't have the liability insurance to publically announce my works, nor do I care to have HARC tell me to stop, so the efforts will remain anonymous.
