Beyond all the hysteria hype, the main crops becoming GMO are wheat and corn. Wheat has been very successful, able to grow in many places it couldn't previously, like India and China. There has been virtually no interaction with GMO wheat and pesticides.
It has been corn that has been modified to accept pesticides without damage. This has been for using corn for ethanol, growing it faster and in more abundance. The whole idea of using fuel for food has been a disaster with little overall benefit. It should be remembered as a stupid idea to use food for fuel unless as some desperate final resort. We are a long ways from that.
As for things like broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, peas, a multitude of other produce, they have never had a need for GMO and there is very little being researched in that direction. The typical street hysteria over these vegetables being threatened is psychotic compared to any actual threat. The organics are labeled in their section, leave it at that, that is all the distinction that is needed. Why add nonsensical bureaucratic fees to the price of produce?

Actually, wheat is not GMO. They tested it, but it was never approved. In fact, some GMO seeds did escape and contaminated conventional wheat in Oregon, so the farmers took a huge loss and sued when Asians buyers embargoed all imports from the area.
Corn....mostly grown to feed animals so they can run CAFO or make fuel for cars, industrial farming at it's worst.

Even worse, there is growing practice of spraying wheat with Roundup to dry it right before harvest...I want no part of that "food".
