RE: Kenoi not guilty - punaticbychoice - 11-04-2016 kalakoa, Punatic007, TomK: All true. Pain in Paradise? Maybe the ghosts of political bosses of the past are watching over Hawai'i and Hawaii. And the current denizens in public and political life.[] RE: Kenoi not guilty - kalakoa - 11-04-2016 Pain in Paradise? So long as I get the same "treatment" under the "law", this remains a relative paradise. RE: Kenoi not guilty - geochem - 11-04-2016 "I'm shocked, shocked, to find that gambling is going on here..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjbPi00k_ME “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” Thanks to C.S. Lewis for that... RE: Kenoi not guilty - punaticbychoice - 11-04-2016 geochem: Like it. Thank you for thoughts. RE: Kenoi not guilty - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 11-04-2016 a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. When a politician enacts change for the better and citizens can recognize an improvement in their lives, the politician doesn't need to crow about "the greater good" as well. If we can see it with our own eyes, we don't need to hear about it too. I saw the tracks immediately - they swirled back & forth across the shuffled sand of the path. They seemed the design of indecision, but I am not sure. Mary Oliver RE: Kenoi not guilty - Kapoho Joe - 11-04-2016 Hawaiian politricks. Always good for a giggle. Until you remember that you live here. RE: Kenoi not guilty - Punatic007 - 11-04-2016 This crap has worked around here for several decades however the population is no longer just folks who are related or getting illegal and/or unethical benefits such as in nepotism and county jobs. Too many educated and world travelled folk who simply want honest government for their tax dollars. We don't care your ethnicity and we hope you don't care about ours. Time to wake up Big Island, it's just a matter of time before the feds come back in and clean things up. This is America of all people not just those who are friends, family or business interests of Billy Kenoi. RE: Kenoi not guilty - Chunkster - 11-04-2016 It will be after the turnover of the last Inouye hand-picked Federal prosecutor positions before there is a big chance of some serious Fed anti-corruption activity. Several well connected political observers have commented that the late U.S. senator had a thing about keeping the Feds out of Hawaii political matters. And it doesn't take a genius to conclude that the half-hearted prosecution of Kenoi was more about politics than justice. The governor and his friends probably didn't want a folksy Hawaiian from the Big Island challenging His Ineptitude in the primary in two years. Too funny Chuckster. RE: Kenoi not guilty - alaskyn66 - 11-04-2016 Kinda wonder over the last two terms is it?.. how much money was wasted on alcohol and hostess bars..Money that could have been spent on many other things more beneficial to the community. .. couple things come to mind.. Shoes or clothes for poor school children. Fans for classrooms that need them. Covered bus stops for some school bus pick up areas. Sidewalks/ bike trails. Add more garbage cans to the county parks. Hire more people to clean up county parks. Etc.etc. |
