No one had previously mentioned cancer as a concern with pesticides, but apparently it's a big one for many folks. For me not so much. Rather, it's the other potentially adverse effects to the environment.

EW's point about the long trail of pesticides that were once deemed safe, but were later put on restricted use or banned outright, is pretty spot on. From DDT to aldicarb, there is plenty of history to undercut any blanket assurances of safety.

Given that last year the EU just barely renewed the use of RoundUp , and some EU countries have instituted various restrictions on its use, there seems to be plenty of reason to inform people who may be exposed to it or other pesticides. Again, what is the argument against individuals in Hawaii being informed of possible exposure?

I like it when you post Paul, because I get a good laugh reading your stuff.
I could imagine you as a lawyer for Monsanto, being all critical and tearing apart a statement like that, "pesticides not being good for our bodies in any way shape or form"

What are you going to argue the opposite? They are good for our bodies? Big Grin lol!

I have never used Roundup, I have no idea if it's harmful to humans. I just know that despite repeated attempts there has never been any evidence produced that it is harmful. On the contrary, it has been very carefully scrutinized. I'm ready to change my stance based on evidence. Are you?

There is valid reason to be concerned about possible risks of chemicals as a cause of cancer. Cancer rates have risen alarmingly.

There are many reasons for the rise. Scientists do not yet have a completely clear picture on the role of chemicals such as Roundup.
