RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - Gdhsquare - 07-12-2018 quote: I have read it somewhere, but I can’t find it. CBS has Hawaii ranked 10 highest ownership rate. Its possible most of these firearms are hunting rifles. RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - PaulW - 07-12-2018 Funny when you think you know something but the facts turn out to be different. RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - PaulW - 07-12-2018 I heard a story from a person whose house was consumed by lava. It seems some good samaritans broke into his house and rescued some of his stuff before it burned. Really! In this case all turned out well but I wonder how many of these somehow ended up in the looting column. RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - BillyB - 07-12-2018 Just another rumor. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/38616069/an-evacuee-returns-home-to-find-thieves-not-lava-had-taken-most-of-his-stuff RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 07-12-2018 People have this misconception that it is the law enforcement role to protect life and property and it is not. In the case of a middle of the night break-in, I don’t think anyone believes this. Wouldn’t the only way police could protect you if a thief broke into your home while you slept, is for an officer to be posted in every home, and catch the thief in the act? Otherwise police will always arrive long after the crook is gone, right? RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - Gdhsquare - 07-12-2018 quote: 47th and 10th is way off from one another. 10th from 2nd is not nearly as far off. Data is data, but depending how that data is looked at and used can tell a much different story. RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - Gdhsquare - 07-12-2018 quote: It applies for all crimes committed against people and property, not just your middle of the night break-ins. RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - MarkD - 07-12-2018 Gdhsquare: "Missed your post. I apologize for the latter part of my post. I had a few beers in me and was being overly aggressive. Safe to say I was over the top. My apologies." No, your text was fine (though we differ in opinion). It is me who needs to apologize. I was exceedingly rude and regret it. I stupidly misread one of your posts to another poster and thought you were trolling. RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - kimo wires - 07-12-2018 I know of one example. A Local resident shot someone that was ripping his plants growing in his yard. He got 7 years. The ripper didn't die though The homeowner/shooter Probably would of got more time if he did. RE: Police - deny looting is ocurring - Midnight Rambler - 07-12-2018 Was the 7 years for shooting or for the plants? |
