As to kids eating like that... I suspect it has more to do with corporations, not the kid or their parent's, pushing that crap on society with ever increasing marketing skills. Advertising. Your complaint methinks would be best focused on the manufactures whose concerns are profits at all cost, even if those costs are the health and welfare of the consumers themselves. Why are we even making that stuff?
I'm simply gobsmacked. Do u truly belive this ? Starting with even the first sentence. What if the kids are not even exposed to media? And whose holding the card?

To "people" like glinda, life is all about Your Uncle and mine (Sam) or his cousins in various state, county and city gigs, regulating, i.e. controlling, the good people of Puna and thereabouts. Power and Control. Just like when Uncle Harry tells you you are NOT allowed to look or touch the lava. If it wasn't lava, it would be something else that the Puna people couldn't see, do, hear, touch, play with, eat, drink etc., etc., etc., be they DemocRATS or RepubliCANT'S, their M.O. is much the same.

Actually, in Japan, there are some very restrictive laws on behavior.. including fat. Seriously, they impose waistline limits for adults ages 40 to 74. Men must maintain a waistline at or below 33.5 inches; for women, the limit is 35.4 inches.

I think you can bet money on the fact that the junk food manufacturers spend money on lobbying to make sure their products can be purchased with an Hawaiian EBT card. They don't miss stuff like that.

I think people under estimate the power lobbying does. We sit and b*itch on social media. While corporations spend billions of dollars giving politicians ( gifts).. to get a return. FWI Hawaii isn't the only state that does this, they all do . God bless America.
