Better have the roof on quick..... Clouds are moving in and hopefully past me here. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll go somewhere else rather than "Gloomwood"!!! How big of a crew do you have up there? Royall RE: What Has Worked Well for You (Lately?) - pslamont - 04-21-2010 Hey Royal... two roofers and two guys for haul and scut, plus Andrew is going to come by around noon to see if he can help any. If you are bored, I am picking up sandwiches at Safeway for lunch. Pam I want to be the kind of woman that, when my feet hit the floor each morning, the devil says "Oh Crap, She's up!" RE: What Has Worked Well for You (Lately?) - Royall - 04-21-2010 Wish I could Pam. Got an appointment in town later. Raining hard here now. Royall RE: What Has Worked Well for You (Lately?) - kani-lehua - 04-23-2010 after the campers packed up and left whittington beach last friday, plans were made for dinner at our house on sunday. at first it was supposed to be a fish fry. well, these local girls don't know how to bone and filet fish (imagine that?!). the two uhu were scaled and gutted and cooked whole. the blue one was cooked local style (stuffed with portuguese sausage, onions and tomatoes and lathered with mayo). the red one was cooked chinese style (a basic black bean sauce and topped with cilantro and green onions). good food, people and conversations. "a great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices." w. james RE: What Has Worked Well for You (Lately?) - Aki - 04-23-2010 Thank you to all who have taken the time to write about the positives in their day or provided a moment of light and goodwill. Going back to the first page of posts on this thread, I wanted to acknowledge and congratulate Carey on passing her GRE exam. If I understand that test correctly, it is necessary to score well in order to go on to graduate school? If not, what is it, exactly? In any case, Carey, congratulatios on this milestone. You are teaching, helping others on multiple fronts, and have added a furry friend to the family. Anything else besides ongoing renovations and home improvements to take up any of your remaining 'spare time?' Missed seeing you at the April Scuba Sunday (it was also Easter Sunday so it was understanable you both weren't able to make it) but perhaps next time we're on the BI. RE: What Has Worked Well for You (Lately?) - pslamont - 04-23-2010 Yesterday I was doing my "good deed" and wound up driving all the way up the Hamakua coast to pick up a freebie for that little family we are helping. I went alone and wow, what a lovely drive. Seems that between travel and the ranch I have let myself lose sight of what a truly lovely island we have. Then today, on another "mission" I drove to Kapoho. Same experience.... went alone, make a leisurely drive and was just thrilled with the sights and sounds all the way to Papaya Farm Road. Even picked up a couple woofers heading from PFR to Pahoa. Just a really nice afternoon. Of course, now that I have wasted two days with these pleasures, I need to get back to work hereon the ranch. Still, the sights of rainbows, growing fields, smiling faces... all worth it. I want to be the kind of woman that, when my feet hit the floor each morning, the devil says "Oh Crap, She's up!" RE: What Has Worked Well for You (Lately?) - mella l - 04-23-2010 I had a lovely day well until the infringement police wrote me to say I was using their trademark expression! :O Who knew but fortunately I was able to fix that mess up and have more fun, helping a good cause with a local charity and a fundraiser for their school! Some how it all manages to work out if given time! mella l http://www.etsy.com/shop/bytheseasoaps Art and Science Our Future RE: What Has Worked Well for You (Lately?) - SandyS - 04-23-2010 Our little cottage by the sea passed it's final inspection. One way tickets are bought. Coming home soon! RE: What Has Worked Well for You (Lately?) - Chuysmom - 04-24-2010 I was blessed to pick up two more clients this week and continued on my newest craft path! Mom is doing great in her new Hilo apartment and the cardinals are everywhere here this morning...they seem to love our yard. It's all good!
