and last I checked he was running for the republican nomination. By the way, Hawaii is an open caucus, so if you care about our economy and ending the war, please caucus with the republicans so that we have a real option in 2012. I am so sick of 12 years of Bush.

I have communicated, using a varient of the King of Sciences, with many Occupy folks. Also followed this from the git go. Here's my take of what the common denominators are regarding what they are advocating for.
1. End the Empire by closing the foreign military bases and bringing all US military personnel, (including "contractors") home from the Middle East occupations, banning the official use of torture and official "disappearances" of US citizens and people worldwide by the US government.
2. End the debt based, Federal Reserve Corporation and institute a "sound money" based currency.
3. End America's longest running war against it's own people, ie. the so called, "Drug War".
I remembered all three. Vote for me!
One additional item people support is an immediate, independent, international, criminal investigation into the astounding events surrounding 9/11. Amazing that this has never been done, given the enormity of the crime. But then as always, consider the source.
Bringing about these profound changes would economically, socially and morally improve all of the US, which includes us here in Punaland. My guess is that a substantial number of folks out here would support most or all of those ideas.
Win or lose, there is only one viable candidate who will do these things, Dr. Ron Paul. Otherwise, the US will continue to be dragged along the path outlined by Dick Cheney and the former Bush Administration in their infamous, "Rebuilding America's Defenses" policy paper, published by their Project For A New American Century" think tank. I think most of us know where that path leads.
I tell, you, lucky we live out here in the wayback during these uncertain times.

Amazing that his supporters come out of the woodwork everywhere. I guess its because he is the only honest population, who understands whats wrong and how to fix it. A modern day Jefferson fighting for the constitution, for individuals, not special interest groups. March 13th is the Hawaii Republican Caucus, it is an open Caucus so anyone, from any party can participate. Please participate if only to force Obamas hand in ending the wars. You can Caucus for Paul, get the only decent man in the GOP the nomination and then vote for Obama in the general if you feel so inclined. Please consider caucusing with the Republicans on March 13th and make a real difference in this country. This country and yes all of us in Puna, could benefit from an election between candidates that are actually different. End the War, End the Fed, follow the Constitution.

I'm a huge fan of Dr. Ron Paul after learning about him. I'm not a Republican, not a Democrat, not anything other than a free thinker. I've also Occupied Kona, Occupied Hilo, and a few other places.
If you know nothing about Ron Paul other than he's running on the Republican platform, you should do your research and vote the person, not the party.

Good question about the bumps, next time I meet him I will ask. Paul you are happy with massive inflation and a lender of last resort to prop up failing businesses? Socialized losses and privatized gains, worst of the worst. The printing presses are just getting warmed up now to bail out the failing governments and banks of europe, the only loser will be you and I.

afwjam, can you explain this? Not being part of a party, I don't know how this works. Am I correct that by registering as a Republican, I'm able to vote Ron Paul in the primary? If I'm not a party member, I can't vote in the primary? I'm willing to play the game and register Rep. just to vote Ron Paul if that's what it takes.

I believe all you need is a photo id with your Hawaii address and then you can fill out a registration card on the spot. I should say that it would be best to register ahead of time, we learned last time that they will do whatever they can to keep Ron Paul supporters from registering.
