RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - ironyak - 07-23-2019 Be it resolved that if you use gut and replace on a bill to avoid public input and reverse the intent of the legislation, Honorable is no longer applied to your name Kaiali'i Kahele. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - macuu222 - 07-23-2019 "Interesting that the demonstrators are peaceful but only because the State has allowed them to act illegally if they do stay peaceful. Blocking the road is illegal. Hundreds of observatory workers that work on the summit can't work because of them. If the State moved them off the highway, they would clearly become violent and they would cause people to be hurt. If this happened in China, tanks would have run right over them. Whether you think that's good or bad, it's clearly good that we don't live in China. It's also lucky for the protesters that they don't live in "old" Hawaii - where protesters were instantly killed. There was no freedom of speech or assembly or individual rights and land could be given or sold to anyone the king took a fancy to. Most of the protesters live in a fantasy world that never existed and never will. TMT is an excuse for them to gather, like kids at a party, and feel like they are way more important and powerful than they will ever be, at least until they start to solve their own problems and stop expecting someone else to take care of them." RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - TomK - 07-23-2019 100% in agreement, ironyak. Incidentally, I now have a link to today's news release by the Maunakea Observatories. Please feel free to pass around. http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?m=1103201627075&ca=26aa0d9f-b584-4a82-a622-8be7d1053a30 RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - Seeb - 07-23-2019 Why don’t they use helicopters to transport personal to the base camp (or what ever call it ) PTA had been training air crews to fly in Afghanistan. Two birds one stone RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - glinda - 07-23-2019 Hey Kirt, why don't you think before you post? You know, actually consider the situation and make statements that reflect your considerations. As it is you come off as a kid that's throwing a temper tantrum. Which is ok, although I suspect you are more than a kid, and would like to be respected as such. Whereas all I can make out of your post is desire to blame your woes on me. Which is fine, post your address and I'll send to one of my, "Don't Blame Me It's All Glinda's Fault" t-shirts. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 07-23-2019 I'll send to one of my, "Don't Blame Me It's All Glinda's Fault" t-shirts. I’d like one too! What colors are available? RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - knieft - 07-23-2019 quote: I suspect I come off as I come off, as you do. Cheers, Kirt RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - kalakoa - 07-23-2019 Blocking the road is illegal. Only for regular people. Hawaiians have special rights and privileges, so special that nobody can even bring it up without being labeled a bigot. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - EightFingers - 07-23-2019 It’s now my understanding “they” want to be called protectors instead of protestors. Another thing, it used be state senators and representatives were interested in bringing business or other large projects TO a state. Hawaii’s will be remembered as doing the opposite. Puna: Our roosters crow first RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - kalakoa - 07-23-2019 bringing business or other large projects TO a state Yes: to Oahu. Neighbor islands need not apply. |
