I like this mask the best, check it out, edges adhesive and an eye guard, around $10 each.

"working test kits"

The CDC recommendation is quarantine.

The test kits don't even work in China.

Stay home and wash your hands.

the 1st comment that you attributed to Schatz

Brian Schatz quoted it under his Twitter account. The article you linked is below his quote which I thought expanded on his comment. I didn’t realize it was a direct quote from the article. He did use quotation marks, but I missed that. I’ll revise my earlier post.

Obie - The CDC recommendation is quarantine.

How about a link to back up that nonsense?

it's almost like they don't want to know

No "almost" about it.

How unfortunate that our economy is only about tourism.

Somebody at Dels told me that the docks at HNL are at capacity (there was apparently some construction or some such to remedy this) and when they are prioritizing which freight to send the containers with livestock feed are prioritized below any of the ones shipping stuff for humans.

We talked to Julie at Miranda's this last weekend and she told us that many of their items got bought out faster than they expected and although they had ordered more it would be 2-3 weeks before it would be available for sale. Had nothing to do with the virus or supply chain just inventory management. Both Dels and Mirandas are frequently out of stuff. There have been times when there was literally no chicken feed or hay available for sale on the island. When the livestock places sell out Walmart sells out next.

O V Feed & Farm Supply in Hilo usually has pretty good stuff in stock but they don't carry hay and they won't order it. I understand that they recently moved (again) so call before going to find out where they are.

Unfortunately, Ace seems to no longer allow one to buy most of the livestock feed online anymore (they had free ship-to-store). I don't know if it's a seasonal thing or what but we used to be able to get some stuff that way.

True Value in Orchidland sells layer feed, alfalfa pellets (sometimes cubes), and sometimes random stuff like swine or rabbit feed. There seems no rhyme or reason to what they have in stock or how much. We've tried to get the manager to order the Standlee grab-and-go hay bales and they did a few times and even though we bought them all they can't seem to place regular orders and we haven't seen any there in over a year. Lately they had huge salt blocks on sale for $7.99- a really good deal. Last we were there they only had one left.

The True Value in Volcano sells alfalfa cubes. J. Hara store sells alfalfa cubes and a few other things.

If anybody gets desperate the livestock place in Waimea is usually a good bet. But the time that everybody else ran out of hay so did they. We were able to get the last one on the island from Pahoa Feed. Anybody know when they might reopen?

ETA: The farm Co-op in Hilo sells very few things like scratch grains etc. Though expect to pay twice as much or more than Walmart.

Terracore, the cashier at Mirandas sent me away saying they had none of the food needs by my animals. Slumping or walking back to my empty truck one of the long time stock guys asked me what was up, very observant of him. He took me in the back, we found lots of open bags that were used to make mixes and he weighed and sold me all I could use. His almost exact words to me were this is very very strange, lots of customers are coming in who are worried about the coronavirus and how it will affect shipping and such and they are emptying the shelves. Guess it depends on who you talk to you get a different story.

I believe it. Some people are going to buy / hoard. But running out of stuff is a daily occurrence there. I'm sure the virus preppers will only make it worse.

Yeah, about updating that case definition... (also asked multiple times at the CDC's media conference this morning)
