So, Fred is running again for District 4. It might be of interest to read the past posts above that were made during his run 2 years ago. I doubt that he has changed in the last 2 years.

Per the latest State Elections printout (May 19th), Fred Blas has not filed for either the State House or the Council. So your concerns just might be moot. You might do well to concentrate on the candidates for council 4 who HAVE filed. These are Greene, Ilagan, Lozano and Naeole (in alphabetical order).

IMHO, Fred Blas is a spoiler....just saying he's running both for State House and for County Council to muddy the waters for legitimate candidates! First of all, he can't officially run for 2 offices and second, he's trying to sell his Hawaiian Shores home and is not even on the island these days. typical blas behavior...[:p]

Just to clarify the rules: A candidate can PULL papers for as many offices as he/she wants, but can only FILE for one. Very often, pulling papers is a strategy to see how the competition lines up while keeping one's options open, and then filing where one's opportunities seem best.

IMO, "one's opportunities" are clearly what is in focus in this case rather than what one has to offer to the community in a particular role.
