"ETA: WHAT??? No toilets on Star Trek??? Well, we (several wahine in this ohana) want "Powder Rooms"! Two, at least. Good night all y'all. Mahalo again for levity. Life is short."

I've always assumed the reason the captain says "set course for starbase x" at the end of most episodes is to allow the crew to take a bathroom break. I don't know if imagtek has thought about this.

Mr. Tom, Sir, obviously, this is keeping me awake. imagtek NEEDS wahine input for the "details", Sir. And for the record, that was "two Powder Rooms", not "two wahine". [Smile]

(Psst...there is lots of discussion going on, to bring back to topic, the economic impact of TMT "controversy". Reason shall prevail.)

Rest well, Sir.

JMO.

"Maybe this, commonly sourced material might be simpler. Plus a tutorial for ANOTHER thing necessary when taking all Female crew.

My god. I bet he's fun at parties. Definitely not someone I'd want to take on an interstellar voyage.

I know, but for now this thread is a lot of fun. Laughter always helps before getting back to the serious stuff. Take care!

"ETA: Can you guys make sure you put the rolls rolling from the top, not bottom, please? We'll "fold the triangle hotel style" for ya.."

And invent a toilet seat that closes automatically? Jeeze, women, the demands are just never ending... [Wink]

PS. Quick fix. If the toilets are designed to face the rear of the starship, then the continually accelerating warp drive will ensure the seats close no matter what, even when you're sitting there. A nice way to recycle energy and prevent domestic disputes at the same time.

Well, now that you mention it...yes, Sir! Can't live with us, can't live without us! Oh, and perhaps that nice heated towel bar? I'm sure it would be a minimal expense, compared to cold, stiff towels. Poor imagetek, he needs a good, good staff for these little details.

Thank you, pog, for "rolling the right way". [Wink]

(Making lunch for keiki tomorrow because school lunch "sucks", and they don't have enough food for all, nor do they have enough time given the long, long lines. That's just one more topic that needs addressing. SO much to do! Aloha ahiahi! Again. lol...)

JMO.

P.S. Yes, Mr. Tom, it is "fun"! Indeed. That is what PW was, and should be, on occasion, whilst discussions of serious matters evolve. Mahalo so much. Earl Grey or Green Tea? Steeped, of course. WTH are those things you said, "philistines"??!!?? [?] Thought they were people of another country, Sir. (no disrespect meant. You know we have to be "maka'ala" not to insult.)[Smile]

ETA: (After reading your last post, Mr. Tom) Oh, didn't want to bring up a bidet (God forbid), but sounds like you have a handle on wahine's thought process. Thank you, Pam! Well done, Sir.

RE: economic impact of TMT "controversy" - TomK - 09-20-2015

I think I'm being nagged [Wink]

I'm tired, so will be brief, hope you don't mind! Most important first:

1) Tea. No tea bag left in my cup thank you. I don't want to drink stewed tea. Since this thread has gone Star Trekish, when the captain of the Enterprise asked for "Tea, hot, Earl Grey" from his tea-making machine, did you ever see it dump a teabag in his cup? No!

"philistine" - (sometimes initial capital letter) a person who is lacking in or hostile or smugly indifferent to cultural values, intellectual pursuits, aesthetic refinement, etc., or is contentedly commonplace in ideas and tastes.

"cup of tea" - a nice cup of tea without a teabag in it.

Now, less serious stuff (oh, I mean proper tea, PG Tips, Tetley, English Breakfast at a pinch, Earl Grey very occasionally).

2) Bidet on an accelerating ship? Bad idea unless you want to clean up the mess. However, if you have pets, it may be a way to keep them hydrated. Just have them sit opposite from you. Dogs will think it's a game, cats will just entertain. Toilet paper may or may not be handy, it depends on its tensile strength. Don't be surprised if you have to go looking for it.

3) As Pog asked, what were we talking about again?

[Smile] (Rice almost pau cook. Making musubi and fried chicken, with a side of salad, tossed; sans the mayo)

Mr. Tom, Sir. You are a jewel. Mahalo for the explanation:

"philistine" - (sometimes initial capital letter) a person who is lacking in or hostile or smugly indifferent to cultural values, intellectual pursuits, aesthetic refinement, etc., or is contentedly commonplace in ideas and tastes.

Man on man, boy oh boy, do we have a few of those here. Just a few. Your list may not be my list, however, at the end of the day, while we must strive for harmonious existence, the "impact" of any controversy shall not cut "the ties that bind".

In other words, no matter the differences, we stand together, as ohana. No need "koko" (blood), need "na'au" (soul/spirit/guts, etc.).

Mahalo for your na'au, Sir. Rice is pau cook. [Smile] Going to make mo'opuna lunch while listening to the magnificent, incomparable, Pavarotti, "Nessun Dorma":

Opihikao,

I wrote in this blog post

http://apacificview.blogspot.com/2012/12/merry-christmas.html

how upset I was with things. Then took Pam to the UK which was special, but I still love it here, but also think about where I came from. That blog post included a link to this magical video. Don't worry about that cup of tea!
