RE: Heads UP! - Here Comes Flossie - Carolann R - 08-14-2007 So how come it looks like we are getting slammed and it's just a grey day outside? Just doesn't make sense... oh yeah - and the eye DOES look more defined. I guess I was more rattled that I needed to be. (Anyone need a drink of water? We've got plenty. LOL!) P.S. - As I finish this post it is starting to pour outside :/ http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/pages/sat_Hawaiiir.php Carrie "All I can say about life is, Oh God, enjoy it." Update as of 1:00 PM - high tide is actually at 3:50 (i had it incorrect) - water just starting to cross Waiopae (small puddles so far). Just started to rain a bit. But air is very heavy and moist. Seems like the same grayness all day - light hasnt changed much. Poohiki is completely closed off to Lookey loos and surfers alike. Not even pedestrian traffic down that portion of red road. I feel like something is going to happen - or maybe it is the Twin Peaks music because the kids are watching that! It is eerie down here now. Newspaper and CNN down here also. RE: Heads UP! - Here Comes Flossie - Green - 08-14-2007 Should i put my kite away ? RE: Heads UP! - Here Comes Flossie - Kelena - 08-14-2007 As Laura Dern said in Jurassic Park when she turned the lights back on, "Looks like we're back in business!" RE: Heads UP! - Here Comes Flossie - glennoid - 08-14-2007 If it seemed to you like it has slowed down, you were right. It is only going 8mph now, which is good in that it may be weakening, but somewhat bad in that any heavy rain is likely to stick around longer than it would otherwise. RE: Heads UP! - Here Comes Flossie - Les C - 08-14-2007 Wow, nothing like pictures to tell the story! I'm glad that the winds are mild and the rain is not heavy.... in the Volcano area, that is. What's been going on in your neighborhood? RE: Heads UP! - Here Comes Flossie - Les C - 08-14-2007 I spoke too soon. The raindrops have weight now. I'm glad that it's still not windy. RE: Heads UP! - Here Comes Flossie - nanasohana - 08-14-2007 Tiki Gardens (aina pua) just cloudy and light rain. |
