Wow, I'll say. I don't see the value there, but hey, that's me.

The area was originally cane land and a workers housing/camp area. We bought 8.25 acres of land 3 years ago for a very good price. The land has county water and electricity, which was a big selling point for us. And the way price have gone up the last few years, there is no way we could afford to buy now. If all goes well, we’ll be there permanently in 2 years!

Thanks mella l

I have traveled to the area,I like the East side for a lot of reasons. I liked was the HSRE because on the location, water, CCR, ect. But if I could find a place that actually had soil, not in a jungle, at 1200 foot now that would be interesting.

Well I am in no way an expert, but I'd look in Kurtistown if those were my requirements.

Ala Loop is about that elevation isnt it - they have plenty dirt. Or Kurtistown behind J.Hara's - that loop has plenty dirt also although only about 900'Elevation I think.....

Kikala-Keokea Homesteads --anyone know about this place? I understand it is far from Hilo. Commutable? Scary criminals? Any beaches at all close by? Close to Pahoa?

Ala Loop starts at under 900' and the other end is over 1000. Sorry I don't know about soil depth.

Are you able to access Google Earth? I can get the elevation of anyplace just by running the cursor over that spot. I just love bringing up Puna and finding every address anybody mentions!

Where's Ninole?
