RE: business? - punafish - 09-25-2014 Because everyone is potentially in the lava flow in lower Puna right now, portability of any future businesses and residences here should be a must. I like the idea of running shops, restaurants, etc. out of modified shipping containers. If done properly, buildings (and entire towns) could be moved around with relative ease as future flows dictate. This assumes, of course, that zoning/building restrictions would be modified, and just as important, that enough people would actually stay in lower Puna to make any business viable in the first place. RE: business? - justthefacts - 09-25-2014 starbucks RE: business? - Sue Nomie - 09-25-2014 The Tin Shack is Pahoa's answer to Starbucks...Behind the barber shop. Just fits in Pahoa perfectly. RE: business? - Carey - 09-26-2014 Rene, right now the park construction is on hold, and the D-11s were re-directed to the emergency route creation...not sure how long it will take to regroup for the park (probably financial, time-frame, and lava flow will all need to get sorted out for the park expansion to get back on track...) RE: business? - kalakoa - 09-26-2014 right now the park construction is on hold Only the construction itself is on hold -- payments towards the debt service are still required. |
