CRAP! my neighbor, who wasn't too concerned yesterday about the storm (won't hit, never do) is out this evening boarding up his windows... now I'm freaking more than a bit, as I decided that most weren't that worried & taping would not do much to protect the glass, but it would probably all that was needed, just in case...
How many out there are boarding up double glass doors, what do you do with the seam? who is doing in frame vs over frame? CRAP!

I was just wondering - who would have to be evacuated? I thought it meant the homeless and those who live near the ocean. Could we have to evacuate if we live in the middle of HPP?

Not too concerned still. But when the albezia start falling all around my house and power lines going down every where than... well, maybe I was wrong! Still, best to play it safe. Relax and have a cool head about it all!

First rain bands associated with Iselle are just offshore Puna judging from radar and satellite data. Nothing to be concerned about because it's just the sort of rain we're used to here and there's nothing particularly unusual on the radar data, but we should be seeing the first signs of the storm in the next two or three hours. The MKWC forecast has the atmosphere starting to destabilize from around midnight tonight, so think this ties in with those rain bands.
I'm looking at this via http://mkwc.ifa.hawaii.edu/ but they might shut down things tomorrow after issuing an early morning forecast. I believe their computers and one or two staff are now based at the IfA in Hilo, so they may well be affected by whatever Iselle brings.
