Aloha~ Well my Mom & I are now the proud owners of 6 acres on road 11. The neighbors seem wonderful and the land is beautiful. My mom plans on moving to the lot next month and camping out in a trailer until her house is built. Thanks for all of the advice on Punaweb forum, which helps guide us along! Looking for a good excavator now - any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Congratulations Sunnhippie and welcome to HA. I cannot personally recommend an excavator but when I was over last week there was a fair amount of equipment setting around with signs on them. Maybe things are slowing down a bit.

But shun foolish controversies...and strife and disputes...for they are unprofitable and worthless.

Check out Exclusive Hauling. Hursley Alani and his wife are responsive, dependable, a pleasure to work with and did an excellent job clearing a friends tricky lot in Hawaiian Shores. I know they have a D9 bulldozer, trucks and probably a backhoe but don't know for sure.

Welcome to Hawaiian Acres sunnhippie. For excavation we had some quotes this year. John's land clearing quoted $6k for 3 acres was the lowest quote, phone-930-7952, and Big Island Excavation was the most and quoted $21K for 3 acres! We actually went with George Peterson, nice guy, honest. His number is 959-8180 or cell = 222-7253 and he charged $7800 because of the increasing fuel costs but he also does pin finding.

Aloha Acre Neighbors,

I also have a shack on F and 6 (O`o A`a Rd.) and my family and I really love coming out there every weekend. We love the Open Market on Sunday. It is really peaceful in the acres but the coquis are moving in. We have one in our yard and can't find it and more coming in from Rd 5. I need to invest in a super soaker and lime I guess huh? Anyway, thanks for this thread. Mahalo.
