RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - riversnout - 09-27-2018 quote: Come on, here's your chance. Use your knowledge of the entire bag of skittles to convince me that Hawai'i was acquired by the US according to the norms and agreements of accepted International Law. I'm begging you. RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - kalakoa - 09-27-2018 How do you spell impeach? M-O-N-E-Y While it would certainly be "amusing" to remove Ruggles from office, impeachment and a special election would cost more than her remaining paychecks. RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 09-27-2018 convince me that Hawai'i was acquired by the US according to the norms and agreements of accepted International Law. Hawaii has gone through numerous changes in chiefs and kings and governing bodies over the years. Russia, England, US, almost Japan. Most of those changes would not be acceptable under Dr. Sai's definition of International Law, except, listen to his explanation in the video, magically there's an exception to the rule! Here's a map of Europe circa 1000 A.D. I'm not a betting man, but I would bet a substantial stack of US legal tender that most (not all Kirt) of the changes since then wouldn't be acceptable under International Law. https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/50cy29/map_of_europe_in_1000ad_1640_x_1244/ On Tuesday night, 9/18/2018 Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono had another message for the Republican senators on the Judiciary Committee “Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing.” She added in another related comment, “Bull$hit.” RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - riversnout - 09-27-2018 That's your well researched argument? I have to confess it's not very convincing. Where are all the red, orange, blue, and purple skittles? RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - randomq - 09-27-2018 Did the Tahitians acquire Hawaii legally from the original Hawaiians? Did Kamehameha legally acquire all of the islands from the other Kings? Would a war have been more valid in your eyes than a nearly bloodless coup? RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 09-27-2018 Where are all the red, orange, blue, and purple skittles? They're all over the map! There is a saying - - sometimes a person lies by omission. It's used in debate, and by attorneys when representing their client. This is one of those situations where any law I would pick out to prove the Hawaiian Kingdom may have no present day standing, you or Dr. Sai could pick out another to prove it does. It would become an infinite game of "Yes, but..." So what's the point? The point is, Dr. Sai does not present the complete history of events which he discusses, he picks and chooses to prove his point. I'm simply showing how he accomplishes his trick. People will pay really good $$$ to see a magician pull a rabbit out of his hat, or saw a woman in half. The audience knows they are being conned, and yet they pay hard earned money to be tricked, and even loudly applaud and cheer for the deceit. They love it, and we call it a form of entertainment. Dr. Sai is an entertainer extraordinaire. He's very good at the art of distraction (look over here! no, not there, here!) and slight of hand. All at no cost to you! Enjoy! (donations gladly accepted for further research) RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - glinda - 09-27-2018 HOTPE - "I'm simply showing how he accomplishes his trick" I guess I missed that part. All I got from it all is how you know about as much as anyone else in the matter.. ie not much at all. RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 09-27-2018 you know about as much as anyone else in the matter I know who the ruling authorities are in Hawaii. So I guess that's a little more than some. On Tuesday night, 9/18/2018 Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono had another message for the Republican senators on the Judiciary Committee “Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing.” She added in another related comment, “Bull$hit.” RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - MarkD - 09-27-2018 Well explained arguments, HOTPE. But the critics will be unswayed. They are determined to hold to their opposition, regardless of what is pointed out to them. Nothing unusual here; we see this on a variety of topics. There are always extremists. RE: Monday Town Hall with Ruggles - PaulW - 09-27-2018 Not providing free health care to people with a certain genetic profile is now labelled "genocide". She's not helping her new friends. |
