"Heard from a friend of a non friend..." and then posted as somehow being relevant. But then hearsay does seem to pass for fact for a lot of people.

life is short. enjoy it

That part is just having some fun.
This is what's going on, which I posted because some wanted to know. I'm not going to say how I know, and it's not important to me to convince everyone. I'm not looking for any credit or points.

For those who are interested in the status of the case:
Tiffany has not given the police an interview. Tiffany has lawyered up with Steve Strauss, and is not in any hurry to cooperate, contrary to what she said here:

I welcome any legitimate investigation regarding this issue.

After I learned of a potential pending investigation by police, I immediately contacted the responsible officer but I have not yet received a response.
btw, I personally asked the responsible officer about this contact, back in September when I went in, and he said he had not gotten any call from TEH on his voicemail, or any other contact, but he had been told he needed to go through her attorney and was not to contact her directly.

I think it is really scummy of her to do a paid ad in the Trib making out like she is cooperating and willing even eager to communicate with the police, when she is behaving the exact opposite.

Maybe she is practicing on being unresponsive, missing scheduled meetings.. you know, the stuff she complained so loudly about other council members. [B)]

[Big Grin] and if she wins, what will her blog be about when she can no longer complain about council members? If she had a sense of humor, she could start complaining about herself. [8D]

Aloha kakahiaka....I've tried to stay out of the fray with the TEH ethics issues because I do not think all this nasty back-and-forthing here on PW is healthy and diminishes the original issues.

IMHO, the fact that the Hawaii County Police Dept. is STILL investigating the complaints and that they have NOT CLOSED the case should tell the community the story without putting anyone in jeopardy of being sued by a litigious person.

Our County Prosecutor is a friend of Tiffany's and told me that such an investigation is not in his kuleana (paraphrasing here). However, if TEH wins the elction, I think it will be incumbent on the Police Dept. to complete its investigation and only then can this issue be concluded. And it will all be part of the public record.

RE: Alleged voter fraud follow up - missydog1 - 10-31-2014

That is very true.

I have only told the truth here, and expressed my First Amendment allowed opinion on a public figure political candidate, so I'm not afraid of her litigiousness. She had a real case with the cartoons, and they didn't pursue the case at all past a preliminary injunction.

As my law practice partner friend says, defamation cases are money-losing dogs for law practices. Even against people with substantial assets, of which I am not one ... [Smile] The price tag for a firm to litigate one is about 250K, or so I was told by a reputable Hawai'i Island attorney, so they do not take them on contingency.

That said, I understand that threats of litigation are intimidating, and TEH has made a habit of putting out such threats, and it can be uncomfortable to hear.

Also my participation in this forum has resulted in me being harassed with very nasty threatening emails. [Sad] [V] It's very ugly energy and something I do not like having in my life, especially as the price for discussing a political candidate.

Sounds like the old TV Show “Hee-Haw” when all the old “wash women” would be out hanging the clothes on the line “gossiping” about all the other neighbors!

Even more troubling than the shallow mind that would make a post like that, is the shallow mind that reads it and believes it!

So you think spreading gossip is “fun?”

And what you claim you know – is by spreading “gossip”

I agree, you may not be looking for points or looking for credit, just desire to spread “gossip”

Yes, I agree. Spreading “gossip” is free speech!

Discussing a political candidate is one thing.

Spreading “gossip” is another thing!

I've seen the public records regarding TEH, seen her in action, and,
I don't think she should hold public office.

FWIW. Tiffany is now playing the lava/sympathy card in her broadcast political ads: "My husband and I are busy prepping to evacuate our home and business due to lava, so I won't be campaigning as much..."

RE: Alleged voter fraud follow up - missydog1 - 11-01-2014

Is this radio, KR? (Have not caught it.)

It is a tricky time to campaign, for sure.
Might have been better to go with "not campaigning because I'm helping people" -- but the sympathy card might work.

I'm sure it's all very distressing that the shop income is threatened. Her campaign financial disclosure reveals a mountain of consumer debt that is far out of proportion to their declared gross income. I think she really needs this Council salary.

Just caught that -- why would she be evacuating their home? Is the lava threatening G Road?
