we did try the garden snack shop as you had suggested. the green curry was just delicious. next time, we'll order the papapya salad-medium instead of mild. the bbq chicken was so-so--kind of dried out.

Their pizza dish is unreal also. Probably feeds at least people. We get four meals out of one. Then there are their ono soups.

Garden Snack Shop has gigantic proportions. Either go with a group or plan to take some home.
Francine~ dry chicken there surprises me, but it could happen anywhereI guess. If you would have told them I am sure they would bring you something else. They are customer service oriented.
The thing that gets me with that huge menu, until just a month ago they were cooking on hot plates and crock pots! Now they have a beautiful commercial kitchen.
One of my favorite things there is the cashew salad. Even when sharing it with a friend we both took some home!

I love and have studied Thai Regional Cooking for many years and while this is not 100% Thai, it is FRESH and Local Thai inspired cooking (amazing flavors of sweet, sour, salty, spicy.)It is a refreshing change from the many steam table offerings at Hilo's Asian restaurants. Now if we could just get them to stop using Styrofoam containers for take out!!! [

that green curry was SO yummy! it's okay that the chicken was dry. we'll just try something different the next time. and, yes, they are VERY friendly and have very good customer service. the one lady, i've forgotten her name, is from phuket (spelling) and told us about how her family survived the tsunami. no curry to take home, we ate it ALL. oink.
