Katuk (Sauropus androgynous) - Sue Nomie - 07-28-2012 I just heard about this. I'm sure it is growing here everywhere but it is new to me. Any in put on this plant? RE: Katuk (Sauropus androgynous) - shave_ice - 07-28-2012 Looks like they sell it at gaia yoga nursery. I've never personally been there, but it looks like they have some good stuff. Might have to check it out myself. http://www.gaiayoga.org/nursery/edible_tropical_plants.html RE: Katuk (Sauropus androgynous) - allensylves - 07-28-2012 Ano (Gaia Yoga)sells at the Makuu Market at the Hilo end. If you email him about something you want and he has it, he will bring it to the market if you want. There is at least one other vendor at Makuu that sells katuk - a lady about 60% of the way toward Hilo from the food court end, on the roadway side of the main sales area (not the row of sellers nearest the road). He does have them. enjoy. riverwolf RE: Katuk (Sauropus androgynous) - Radiopeg - 07-29-2012 Too much of a good thing? http://ajrccm.atsjournals.org/content/157/2/594.full and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9140317 I'm always into planting edibles, but wish I knew the particulars on the amount used in these studies.
