A heads up to any unsuspecting yurt buyers: It has come to our attention that there are some unscrupulous people on the island of Oahu who have been illegally using our business name and riding off all our hard work for almost a year now. They have been passing off untested, substandard yurts to unsuspecting people at more of a cost than a fully engineered, warrantied, time tested design. We are concerned and want to be clear on our stance that yurts that are improperly designed can be a very dangerous situation. Companies who start selling their designs before doing proper testing are using the public's trust for their own quick profit, disregarding important steps toward the safety of their clients. This kind of thing threatens all the hard work we've done over the years to educate the public about these unique structures in an effort to allow these structures to be permittable, viable options for affordable housing in our islands.
BUYERS BE AWARE. While there are several reputable yurt manufacturers, this company on Oahu is not yet one and they are not affiliated with us in any way. Hopefully they can start using ethical practices, get their yurts to meet engineering standards, and stand on their own merits, eventually becoming a good yurt company. There is only one Yurts of Hawaii, we are located on the Big Island of Hawaii, near Volcano Village, and all our yurts are fully engineered, warrantied and custom made. When buying a yurt, like buying any structure, request engineering specs, check references, check reputation. Thanks for reading this and spreading the word.
