Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - Beachboy - 05-11-2007 ..my place on 9th Ave has been invaded by Honey Bees. It wouls appear they have taken over a Mud Sparrow's house on the side on my house. My wife calls me inside the house to see 20 or more flying around my Mac computer!? I thought there was a shortage of honey Bees? Anybody have an idea how I get rid of them? I really don't want to kill the little buggers. Hey, does anybody know of any Beekeepers in Puna area, perhaps they could take my Bees away? RE: Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - Carolann R - 05-11-2007 There are some signs around for a Bee Man...I know our Connie - Sittall has used him and he did a good job for her from what I remember...maybe she can give the details. Carrie RE: Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - radioguy - 05-11-2007 Turn on your cellphone... RE: Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - allensylves - 05-11-2007 There is at least 1 beekeeper in HPP. I think his name is Don Tinker. In 2004, the contact number (no name given) for the Big Island Beekeepers was 982-6431. Allen Baton Rouge, LA & HPP RE: Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - Genxor - 05-11-2007 The "got bees ?" guy charges $200 to remove bees......... Greg RE: Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - punagirl - 05-11-2007 Call CNN - I think we know where all the bees went! Atlanta/Pahoa RE: Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - Beachboy - 05-12-2007 here it is 8:00 a.m. Sat. morning and the first Bee has entered my house!!! If Iknew where they were entering from I could plug it. Until then I have to worry about my 18 month old son, and my 8 year old too. As for myself I have no fear of Bees which stretches back to my childhood. I really don't want to kill them, but nor do I want to pay several hundred dollars to eradicate them either. RE: Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - Les C - 05-12-2007 To, perhaps, adjust your impression, usually, bee removal people don't eradicate them but find the queen, move her and a bunch of cohorts into a container, wait for most of the rest to follow, then transport them elsewhere, probably to a hive. I watched from the other side of a window while a specialist did this at an office in Mtn View, CA. I learned a lot watching. There might be a swarm in your walls (if it's double-wall construction), in the attic (if there is one), or under the eaves of the roof, perhaps? Smoke will slow them down, but I wouldn't do that without considering what you do next, what they'll do when there's no more smoke, and what the smoke will do to the interior of your home. RE: Like an old Alfred Hithcock movie.. - Kahunascott - 05-12-2007 Since you have to fear of bees I have a solution. Collect the honey and sell it at the market and then you can pay for the beekeeper to remove them. |
