Parcel Post & The Holidays - Chuysmom - 11-02-2012

Okay, so once again I got lured into the "free shipping" gig again. This would be great on the Mainland...but most free shippers send things via Parcel Post which usually means several weeks (depending on when the barge leaves the Mainland). I have received things sometimes 10 weeks after I ordered it...REALLY? I would just rather pay the few dollars for Priority Mail.

My point is that this Christmas season when many offer free shipping...I will keep this in mind once again. Free is NOT without paying some major patience. LOL [Wink]

amazon.com using super saver shipping seems to be the best.

Amazon Prime membership is worth the money if you order a lot of stuff

Amazon Prime is OK for the free shipping and the free movie and TV videos too.

I LOVE the free super-saver shipping from Amazon... I usually have my stuff within 3 days of it being shipped out.

Prime is available in Hawai'i; it's completely worth it, IMHO. I just paid $19 shipping for an AC unit, from the east coast. Membership has paid for itself multiple times, over the course of the last year.

Amazon Prime was among the best advice I've received since I arrived.

Amazon Prime for Hawaii offers free standard shipping (3 to 7 days), not the two-day shipping offered to their mainland customers, but its still a great deal if you buy a lot from them, especially when you throw in the free video content...

Very cool! I do like Amazon and the free shipping is a great deal. These were merchants on Etsy and Ebay who offer free shipping... "Bueller...Bueller?"

Another thing about Amazon Prime, if you have a Kindle device, is you can "borrow" books from the Kindle library. You can only borrow one a month but if you borrow 12 books in a year, that could save you upwards of the cost of a Prime membership. I've already checked out 3 books for my Kindle and lovin it!! Shipping is a BIG plus and take advantage of it AFTER I check local prices.
