There has been a constant buzz of helicopters since early this morning flying over Nanawale. I'm guessing a cruise ship is in?...or is something else going on?

There is the normal NCL Tuesday cruise ship
Volcano looks... well... "normal" ... & webcams pictures are pretty hazey, probably due to the moisture in the air... so...

My aunt Susan just came through Hilo on a cruise ship, she mentioned that they received all kinds of info about the tours for each stop well before they even started. So when the lava was really high in the crater at Halemaumau a bunch of people got emails touting the exciting lava activity and booked helicopter rides. When their ship came in things were pretty quiet, but if you canceled your reservation for the flight you lost the deposit. That may explain the lack of connection between lava activity and helicopter flights.
