I've used Atlas and they were great to work with.

I was actually wondering about this issue. I have a lot in Orchidland that I am finally getting ready to build on. Years ago, there was talk about passing a law making it so all new houses have to have a septic tank instead of a cesspool. Houses that were already built with cesspools wouldn't be required to change, but new houses would have to have septic tanks. Did this law ever pass? If I start building my house, will I need a septic tank? I want to have everything all legal and permitted so I can get electric service to my place.

What does it cost to have a septic system installed in tiki gardens or hawaiian beaches?

RE: Septic and cesspool engineering - VancouverIslander - 02-09-2013

Cesspools are still permissible in most areas of the Island AFAIK. Our system cost around 2300 plus engineering costs (400 or so, I'd have to look it up, I might have it mixed up with the cost of the architects stamp)

Thx Van! But on under an acre, a septic tank is required so I was wondering what the costs is for that system. I hear it's alot more than a cesspool.

I have "The Official Hawaiian Telcom Yellow Pages" phone book.

On page 352 under the Heading "Septic tanks & systems-contractors & dealers" I've called 4 of them and all had voice mail and none have returned my call.

My be a busy time for **** system installations.

Mailes,

When we had ours done, I left messages on about 10 contractors voicemails and *none* ever returned my call. We used Jay Walker, who not only answered his phone every time I called him, but was prompt and did a great job. I have 2 numbers for him, but I forget which one was the better one: 938-6844 or 965-8889.

Awesome! I'll call him now. Finally got one call back, looks like around $6,000 PLUS engineering.

eta: Which is NUTS!
