But what kind of "weeds"? I've got goats, so if they are not toxic I'll let them stay...

Here is another one I just found that I'm not sure what it could be. Growing near my parrot cages (something they tossed from their foods?)

Definitely in the Asteraceae family, would need blooms for a definitive, but good chance it is fireweed...if it is, something not to be kept....

havent read any answers yet Smile

they are both weeds, the 2nd one is called sourbush (Pluchea carolinensis), the first one will get real tall and big for a weed but never looked up the name of it, they are best killed early before they seed.

PS the stuff you want to kill is the plants in the background of the 1st picture, the Koster's Curse (Clidemia hirta)

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha

thanks for the fireweed (Erechtites valerianifolia) ID, I have a few of them now and then, but never bothered to look it up before...

PS the fireweed pictured is unrelated to the fireweed thats made news here this week... one of the worst plants here, the one with the yellow daisy like flowers that grows all over the uplands like Saddle Road and Mauna Kea cattle ranches.... that stuff is Madagascar ragwort (Senecio madagascariensis) and slowly poisons livestock...

Thanks everyone for the help! I don't know much about plants, but now I know three new plants that are invasive and need to die. I've got those Clidemia hirta EVERYWHERE. UGH. Is there a native plant that might crowd out those weeds?
