Looking for Bird of Paradise plants - Hawaii Bound - 02-02-2013

Aloha,

I am looking for the good 'ole regular Bird of Paradise plants. Not thee giant bird, or a white bird but the standard blue and orange ones. If anyone willing to part with some or sell 'em hit me up.

the really small craneflower plants (Strelitzia reginae) are really easy to divide up and repot for sale or to transplant, I just divided a bunch up and gave many away about 3-4 months ago, but the ones I kept I replanted.

The tougher ones are the Travelers Palms because of the size of the keiki and how close they grow to the momma plant, and obviously you cant dig up a Travelers Palm to divide up...

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha

The Travelers Palms is the Giant Bird of Paradise and I am not interested in that one. The Strelizia Reginae is the one that I am after.

I am still looking for some. There is a gentleman on Craigslist that I am supposed to meet up with today but I really like the Bird of Paradise so if you know of anyone wanting to let some go let me know. I just acquired the acre next to me and I am working on making a garden paradise…slowly.

Just checking to see if anyone has any they are willing to sell or get rid of. The guy on Craigslist is either just too busy or isn't interested in selling as he was never was able to meet up and won't return any calls now so still looking.

If you just want a pretty yard, and you're not picky, there are several species that look nearly identical to Bird'o'Paradise, except that they're not high-maintenance and bloom relatively often.

RE: Looking for Bird of Paradise plants - Hawaii Bound - 02-18-2013

Not picky at all. Looking for anything with color that looks good. I was able to find some "birds" finally.

If anyone has "tropicalness" that they want to part with let me know.
