RE: new drivers liscense /car plates - leilaniguy - 06-05-2007 30 days. RE: new drivers liscense /car plates - Carey - 06-05-2007 You do not need to get a new license until your current one expires, but you do need to renew PRIOR to when the new one expires, and you probably will not get a renewal notice. You will need to take a written test. Drivers manual study booklets are available at most stores and is online at: http://www.hawaii.gov/dot/highways/hwy-v/HIDrvMan.pdf Info on drivers licenses is at: http://www.hawaiipolice.com/topPages/driverLicensing.html You can get a state ID card for resident discounts (mainly at touristy things) Edited by - carey on 06/05/2007 20:20:19 RE: new drivers liscense /car plates - Hotzcatz - 06-05-2007 If you are bringing a car over from the mainland, it is supposed to have a Hawaii tax sticker on it or they will give you a ticket for not paying road taxes. If you have Hawaii plates, then you don't need the out of state tax sticker. RE: new drivers liscense /car plates - Wegian - 06-05-2007 Other than the Hawaii tax sticker, are there any other taxes/fees/things that somebody shipping a vehicle should be aware of? Thanks RE: new drivers liscense /car plates - Brad W - 06-06-2007 And there's a separate second test for a motorcycle endorsement. The study material is not in the regular manual.
