Best way to transplant Hapu`u keiki off mothers? - jenniferjangles - 03-28-2013 Anyone have any recommendations for transplanting the little Hapu`u keiki that grow off of the mama hapu`u? mahalo~ RE: Best way to transplant Hapu`u keiki off mothers? - Rene Siracusa - 03-29-2013 I've done it successfully. A vertical cut flush with the trunk of the mama hapu'u. A pruning saw works well for this. If it's a small pup you can dig a hole and stick it in the ground. If it's larger you can also lay it on the ground horizontally - after a while it will root in and the fronds will turn up - later the new trunk growth will start growing straight up. Good luck. (Can't find any information on it because the internet doesn't know what 'keiki' is...) |
