Just spotted two decent sized pigs in th yard. It's only 4:10 PM. Have a nice pig trap. If I catch them, is anyone interested in dispatching and smoking meat?

w/ill let you know whe i get th trap set up.... it is very heavy and I am not very strong. I have a big tractor to move it but still will need help. will post when I get it worked out........ then will fill it with nice papaya that I get to feed my animals. Pigs love it!

If you would like, my son and I can help move and set up the trap later next week? This weekend is very busy with high school graduation, then I'll be at the firehouse for a couple days but I'm off later in the week. I'm also helping my boss with his pig problem at his house in Orchidland. He has 4 small pigs and one big boar messing up his property!

Just be careful who's land you are on when you shoot. Lots of locals shoot and eat...mostly smoke the meat. they tent toward no belly fat so no bacon.....

Most of the wild pigs I hunt are up on Mauna Kea. They are really lean, so no bacon! If I smoke the meat, I'll add a couple green papayas to the marinade to help tenderize the meat. Sometimes I grind the meat for sausage, or I'll grind it and mix with ground beef for meat loaf and meat balls. The pigs up there are so lean that I will usually add a little pork fat from KTA. Pigs down here do have more fat and the flavor of the meat depends on their diet. Pigs that eat mac nuts, sweet potato and other veggies probably produce better quality meat than you can buy in the store!

Just to let you know.... the papaya are not gone but a momma and her six baabis were hanging in th pasture around there for a while Friday at 1 PM. Pretty brazen and out there in daylight. Hope there some big boys checking it out.....
