Perhaps the states best for business ignore the people, and the states best for people ignore the businesses.

Based on what criteria? Its easier to be happy here with less, because its such a wonderful lush climate. That does not mean that most of the population is not barley struggling to survive, a lot off of government subsistence. How about the quality of life in America over the past decade, is it getting better?
