Need Ohana/ Small House in HPP Nov.6 - Dec. 3rd - descodave - 10-19-2013

Our Mom & Aunt are coming Nov.6th thru Dec.3rd and need an affordable place to stay near us in HPP (we built a small house & have no room for company). Please let us know what you have, price, etc... Someone offered us a home for $900, but it's not furnished. Thanks for your help/advice!

Please contact these people: http://www.deephawaii.com/

I know them very well and they try very hard to accommodate your needs. I don't know where in HPP you live but they have houses in HPP and other areas.

Another option is "Vacation Rentals By Owner", http://www.vrbo.com/
we've rented through this service many times in several states.

Also, call Mark Cox at 808-9640=2948. www.bigislandparadisehomes.com. He always has places in HPP for rent. Mine used to be one of them. Highly recommend Mark.

If you use Mark Cox and Ron Wood be sure to ask for written confirmation that the property is not on the market and there will not be realtors traipsing through. My daughter and her boyfriend rented a house in Kapoho from them for two weeks and were constantly asked to leave the premises for showings. It was not exactly the vacation experience she had worked double shifts for 6 months to pay for, they were incredibly inconsiderate about it, did not tell her until she was here that the house was listed and going to be shown, and did not offer a discount, or even an apology, for the inconvenience. Very unprofessional behavior.

AND DO CHECK W/ MARK & RON. NOT SURE IF THEY WOULD HAVE ANYTHING THIS INEXPENSIVE ....IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY NO LONGER RENT OUT AND LIST SIMULTANEOUSLY.

I would peek on Airbnb. It's a GREAT resource.
You have to be a registered member to rent, however, but it's worth checking out. On the left side of the page, you can adjust price and type of rental (private room/entire house) to filter out what you don't want.
