Found: vintage Hawaiian psyche-folk album - Cheerio - 11-30-2013

I just wanted to share this, it is so nostalgic and lovely. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but my husband and I dig older music, and are starting to get into 70's folk/psyche.

These Trails was a band on Oahu that only released one album that wasn't very popular, but it's recently been rediscovered and repressed. Olomana-style lyrics and vocals, traditional slack key, some uke, couple with some interesting synth.

Thanks for posting, that's an amazing find. Their music sounds like a Hawaiian version of the Incredible String Band. Great songs that really take you back to the mood of the early '70's. Far shaka out brah!

In the very early 70s, when I was on Maui and Oahu, this is more where I was: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSqBXH7386I (Album recorded in Hawaii for yer connection).

That was an interesting find. A unique mix.
