Not quite 10" - jerry - 12-30-2013

It looks like the storm may be winding down. According to my weather station in the 12 hours from 10 last night to 10 this morning we got 9.91" of rain here in Orchidland.

My cat still won't come out from under the bed! He usually follows me everywhere... [Big Grin]

I was just saying the other day my banana plants needed a good soak... Guess they got it!

My rain gauge captured a bit less than 2" of rain during the storm in the Kehena Beach area. Amazing the difference a few miles makes in weather conditions on this island. The dog was not happy about all of that thunder. I cannot remember a time when I have experienced an electrical storm for such an extended length of time.

The Pohaku river is roaring where it goes under Highway 11, I wouldn't want to own one of those Orchidland properties where it floods so badly at times like this.

Orchidland was a swamp last night. The water came within 4 inches of flooding my downstairs. Dodged a bullet.
