one might check the web cam.. all indications are that the lava broke out of the channel that was feeding the flow advancing to the east and trending south. the leading edge of that flow appears, from the greatly diminished amount of smoke issuing from there that that flow has at least slowed down. the break is about 1km from the vent and on the north side of the channel. the flow that is originating from there has already advance to the northeast enough to be burning forest beyond the old puu oo flow field.
