storm - billy - 08-15-2007 so how was the storm, everybody alright RE: storm - Kelena - 08-15-2007 I am quite sure it affected me more here in California than it did folks in Puna. I admit to being worried OUT OF MY GOURD. RE: storm - Rob Tucker - 08-15-2007 It was very anticlimatic. A cat 3 storm came up to our doorstep and deflated. In Pahoa there was almost no wind and little rain to speak of. High level winds from the south simply shredded Flossie. Youcould well think the Hawaiian god of winds - Laamaomao? came to our defense. One wind defeated another. RE: storm - billy - 08-15-2007 good to hear rob, glen did you leave to calf. or were you already gone?well be glad you got a little rain here in arizona 109 today RE: storm - maud gonne - 08-15-2007 I'm assuming my house is still standing, although it's on old stilts. Speaking of being worried out of your gourd Glen, did your "palapa" fly away? What actually is a palapa? RE: storm - leilaniguy - 08-15-2007 The most impessive part of "The big storm" was the morning before. it was dead calm and foggy in Leilani, deep, dense, very quiet fog. Weird here. RE: storm - Carey - 08-15-2007 OK, was it just me, or did anyone else notice a "salt sea air" smell this morning... We are in Keaau town, & it smelled as if we were down on the docks... That was the only thing that was amiss for us... RE: storm - JerryCarr - 08-15-2007 I think a palapa is one of those cocktail dispensing thatched huts they have on the beach in Mexico. I think you can get them prefab at www.palapakings.com Cheers, Jerry Edited by - JerryCarr on 08/15/2007 22:45:02 |
