The Big Island’s Pahoa town is in the running to be named “America’s Coolest Small Town” by Budget Travel.
Pahoa is the only Hawaii town out of 15 towns across the country that are in the running for the coolest small town title.
Budget Travel has opened voting to the public, and allows one vote every 24 hours per IP address through Feb. 25.
As of Monday, Pahoa ranked No. 13 in the contest, with 1.2 percent of the votes.
