Does anyone have any personal experience with Ms. Kuamo'o-Henry? Other than her stand against GMO, I like a good deal of what I see on her website.

Take absolutely everything I say with a grain of salt, she asked me to help with the campaign.

For most of the people in Puna, yes, this is the website that they would care about:

http://www.ProgressForPuna.com

I can honestly say that for the rest of the people on Earth, they probably care more about this one:

http://www.AlohaSpiritAunty.com

Aunty is a world ambassador of aloha. She teaches ho'opono pono classes at Hawaiian Sanctuary, where she also sits on the Board. I can honestly tell you that when she asked for help I was stunned that she was getting into politics at all. I met her when I first came to the island more than eight years ago and every time I speak with her I feel as if she has one eye on me and one eye on the ancestors! (pretty much what her own site says) You can also check me out at www.WellnessWithAloha.com to see who I am and what I do, as you see I know a few elders on the island, no she and I never actually worked together but in my experience Aunty is one of the cleanest and most pono people on the planet and one of the finest representatives of her people and her principles that a person could find.

Which is all why when she came to me and said "politics", after they applied the smelling salts, I was all in!

All that aside, you will find from her record of accomplishments that she is a do-er, not a talker. She believes in applied principles, not spoken ones. And as you will find, she has a sense higher than her own of what is pono.

When we set up the event, I can only invite you to come and experience her energy for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Very encouraging to see other candidates for this seat. Takes a lot of commitment, sacrifice, and courage. Mahalo for this information, and links provided.

Mahalo for the reply.

You may have noticed from certain postings that some of us who are allied with Aunty's campaign are not exactly politically savvy in this specific arena. If there are members of the community who feel strongly enough about the need for change that they would like to assist in the campaign, formally or otherwise, and have the local political (or any other!) knowledge we may lack to improve our chances for success in the coming election, we are having a senior staff meeting this week prior to her official announcement kickoff I mentioned in the prior posting. If you feel that you have something to contribute, please reach out to me, we'll go from there. (It can be kept as confidential as you like if that is your choice. I'm a "person" not a "political person" and if you don't want me to say anything then I don't, pretty simple.)

In my experience you don't get many chances to cast a vote for some one likke Aunty.People like that don't run often. From what I have been able to find out she is the type of candidate I never get to vote for.I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more response. If you don't do all you can to get folks like this elected,Your complaints about the same old political politicians lose validity. Here in western P.A.she wouldn't stand a chance.the big political machine would chew her up and spit her out.So count your blessings Puna.Ofcoarse if she's not for you vote for who you prefer.Do your research make an informed vote. It's your biggest civil duty...just my oplnion
