The hatches have been battened down! RE: Get your blue tarp houses secured - Guest - 03-14-2014 Thanks for the wind brief Obie, This weekend may spell doom for most of the mango and lychee tree's in Puna, and for the whole state. Seems like the winds knock down most of the little lychee and mango's every year. I really was hoping for a bumper crop this year, hope the wind wraps around us in some way. This morning is just peaceful and calm, gives no indication of this storm. I wonder what could be put up to try and protect some folks lychee or mango?? I have three trees I would try to cover if I did not think the cover would just blow away. The hard rains two weeks ago really killed off a lot of the flowers(rotting them) on the trees, now the winds can bring down its share of the little ones. RE: Get your blue tarp houses secured - pahoated - 03-14-2014 The wind front is hitting the leeward side first, so the windward side should get less wind. Click on the .gov site in the link.
