Anybody know about local craft shows or faires or the best way to find out? Don't show much on the internet.

There will likely be craft booths at the Pahoa Christmas Parade on Dec. 8th.

Also the Maku'u Farmer's Market will likely have increased craft and gift booths through the holidays.

hi carrie,

inquiring minds want to know what crafties your making for xmas? i made painted glass ornaments one time for xmas presents which were nice since they were a personal touch and fun to give as presents to friends and family especially when i personalized the design.

hey, you can sell them at our out of puna - punaweb gathering????

Hiya Noel! I do Victorian Ribbonwork Roses and Flowers as well as Ribbon Embroidery. I combine them with rich-colored velvets, dupioni silks, swarovski crystals and organic lavender and rosemary...so - sachets and purses that are romantic and one of a kind.

I have been doing this sort of thing for a few years and in lieu of not being able to find a clerical position yet here on the Island, I am resorting to my artistic side and gonna just build my inventory of handbags and sachets...maybe to sell at craft fairs for Christmas and also possibly at Maku'u Market.

I saw on the news last week a website called http://www.etsy.com

It is all handmade stuff of every nature and it's free to join. They take only 3.5% of whatever you sell and it's only 20 cents each listing. It's like ebay but not as crowded and all original handmade kinda stuff. Check it out! Mahalo!

Rob - how can I get a booth on December 8th? I'm getting things together to sell and have joined a local Crafters Club. Hawaii locals love their crafts!

hi carrie

tell me more about your crafters group, do you do the same projects or your own stuff and just socialize? how large is the group and what does everyone do....any large concentrations of one type of craft?

Noel, it's not that kinda group. It's like for Craft Shows...check it out. I also listed a couple of other groups that are interesting to check out.

I joined the first one. But I have to get my GE license to show with them for the November show at Edith Kanakaole Stadium...

Actually I am editing this because it was our Malolo that turned me onto them. I just went onto the ICB website and paid them through paypal for the fee. Thanks again Malolo!! Smile

thanks for the link carrie, i'm actually interested in doing the volcano art group...i paint, sculpt, ceramics, wood...wouldn't mind being with other artist groups also for fellowship and get my artwork established on the island....

good luck with your projects - hope they turn out to be fulfilling and better money makers!
